Hello classmates, I hope you are well. This is the last blog post and we
have to talk about English.
English is a difficult subject for me. When I was in school, the English
class made me nervous, I understood the teacher very little and I was
embarrassed to speak the language. It was very difficult for me to give a
presentation or have an oral test, it still happens to me.
My school didn't care that much about this course, so I went to college without a good English base. In addition, a big difference between private schools and municipal or subsidized schools regarding the level of English they teach.
In general, it costs me more to speak English than to write. The songs
help me to practice pronunciation, however, as I said in the previous post, the
subject of listening comprehension is more difficult for me. It is more complex for me to understand British English than American
English, because is more formal and, due to American movies and
series, I have become more accustomed to the accent of American English.
In these three English courses I have had at university, I
feel that I have learned very little. I know I have to spend more study time on
it. It may be necessary to take additional courses outside the university, but
I hope someday to learn to speak, write and understand English, because it's
increasingly important for our development, both personal and professional, as
it's one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.
