Currently, I’m studying my third year of Sociology. I like my career and generally consider the
teachers to be good. However, there are aspects of the curriculum that can be
improved.
First, although progress has been made on a gender
perspective, it’s still lacking. For example, regarding the bibliography of the
courses, most of them are texts created by men and, therefore, the perspective
of women is rarely studied.
Second, it’s necessary to generate more instances
of discussion and participation in the courses, especially since it ‘s a
profession that, for the most part, requires multidisciplinary teamwork. In
addition, more exhibitions or forums should be held on the future professional
in sociology and it’s various areas.
In relation to English courses, it’s necessary that
the classes are more interactive and playful. I honestly feel that from the
first English course until now I have learned very little, partly because I
haven’t studied enough, but also because I do not spend as much time on
listening comprehension and colloquial forms of expression.
The current pandemic has posed great challenges
when it comes to teaching online and also regarding the curriculum. The
practical part of my career has been affected since I cannot visit
organizations and resort to field research. In addition, participation in
classes is limited, but it’s necessary not to miss group work.
